Environmental Portraits

Younglove Photography has been recognized to be a premier service for creating beautiful engagement and family portraits at some of the most scenic locations in Orange County. For beaches, there is a cozy little cove located along a rocky, majestic portion of the Pacific coastline. If you need a park location, Grant prefers the privacy of a few locations that offer large beautifully-aged trees and shrubs for rendering great color & texture. The warmth of the afternoon light helps enhance the mood while Grant patiently captures the special bond between family members. For engagements, Grant offers extra time for additional romantic poses for couples requesting this service.

Advantages of the Engagement Shoot

Most couples agree that they anticipate an unreasonable amount of stress on their wedding day. Without proper attention, the stress often shows in their photographs. Why settle for this when it's avoidable? Most people have never been professionally photographed before their wedding day. Grant recommends a low stress shoot first, because, “most people need familiarity to feel comfortable. The engagement shoot is a fun and incredibly valuable experience.” It's just a few hours of adventure invested at a beach or park, while looking good for your loved one. You learn about a dozen great tips on how to look better for your wedding day, and develop a comfortable relationship with your photographer at the same time. If this appeals to you, please take advantage of the January wedding special that includes an engagement sitting. This offer is available through October 2006 for all weddings secured during the months of January and February.

Why hire a professional Wedding photographer?

How many wedding disasters have you heard? About 10 years ago, I had a new friend inquire on the options for printing his wedding photographs. He had negotiated all the negatives from a photographer friend who worked on the side. He paid for his time and materials and received all the film at the end of the day. After processing, he discovered something had terribly gone wrong. The lab said it was the photographer's fault and the photographer said it was the lab's fault. After viewing the film leaders and frame borders, I concluded the film had been properly developed, and the photographer was at fault. Once confronted, the photographer "friend" claimed he didn't have the money to refund...

I felt sorry for this unfortunate groom because he had paid too much for the few prints that could be salvaged!

Racing with the Clowns

On December 4th I lost my mother-in-law to congestive heart failure. Maurine was the special centerpiece to a wonderful family that I was privileged to marry into. She made me feel comfortable with her warm southern-style hospitality.

In her last years Maurine would ride “Old Red”, her scooter, for special occasions. One of her most favorite activities was to join her family on opening day at the Orange County Fair. She enjoyed the art exhibits and tasty foods, but smiled most when viewing the numerous entries her family submitted for competition. I shot this photograph of Maurine 18 months ago at the Fair and it captures her great sense of humor after challenging the clown to a race. I will miss her great humor and friendship. Grant

Before After

Grant vividly recalls shooting this image last spring while in San Diego attending a photographic seminar. The train tracks grabbed his attention and compelled him to take out his camera. "Sometimes I see more than the camera", Grant says figuratively. "I saw great converging lines with simplistic shapes and oily textures". Grant decided to enter this shot at the 2005 O.C. Fair and won 3rd place in the Professional Photographers Division for Computer Manipulated Photographs. 14x21 Archival Watercolor prints are available for purchase.
